Champions Online Exclusive Specials!

It would appear as Cryptic is now offering some really nice pre-order specials that not only cuts the monthly subscription price from $15 down to $10 if you, but also nets you beta access to both Champions Online as well as Star Trek Online.

No matter how you cut it, this just seems like one hell of a sweet deal, but you know what they always say, "if it seems too good to be true, then it probably is." We never know how good a mmorpg truly is until we actually get in to the post-release era. Therefore, plunking down $200 for a lifetime subscription sounds great, but what if the game ends up sucking or there just isn't any long term growth to the game. Then you are out $200.

It's a gamble to be honest, but I would imagine that there are plenty of people pulling on their spandex and grabbing for their credit cards as I write this article.... Now where did I put my spandex?

Bigemnose ...  I'm really not sure how I feel about this pre-order subscription. On one hand I wish I had the $200 because then I would be able to play the game for free. On the other hand, $200 is quite a lot of money for a game. Plus, i am not really sure that you actually get the game included in that price. From the way it reads on the website, I think you still have to buy the game.
